Janet is a highly trained and experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist, with over 27 years practice in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, and has been practicing in the Canberra region for over 15 years. She has also worked in private practice in Sydney, Toowoomba, public hospitals in Tamworth and Sydney, and 1st field Hospital Australian Army Unit in Sydney. She has taught Clinical Pilates Classes in Canberra City for the last 9 years.
Janet is skilled in treating both acute and chronic conditions. She provides help in preparing for, and recovering from surgical procedures, as well as injuries sustained in sporting and everyday life.
Janet has many years’ experience specialising in treating people with complex, chronic pain disorders in all parts of the body, particularly spinal (back and neck) problems and overuse injuries such as RSI. Janet has assisted many people who have experienced long-term and chronic conditions to help reduce pain, function well and balance life, work and play.
Janet is committed to evidence-based best practice and continuing professional development and education to stay in touch with the latest understandings and approaches. As well as continual learning and training, Janet has conducted research into the effectiveness of Progressive Neck Strengthening on Neck Pain and Disability. Janet enjoys providing both individual and group treatments and her sense of fun has earned a popular following teaching Pilates classes.
Janet also loves skiing, playing the violin and mountain biking.
